Product Applications
Phosphorous Acid is mainly used as a raw material for manufacturing plastic stabilizers. It is also used in the production of synthetic fibers, phosphites, nylon brighteners, dibasic lead phosphite, glyphosate, water treatment agent ATMP, potassium dihydrogen phosphite, etc. It can be used as a stabilizer for polycarbonate and an antioxidant for manufacturing nylon 1010.
Packaging and Storage
-
Packaging: Plastic bags, open-top steel drums outside multi-layer kraft paper bags; plastic bags, open-top plastic drums outside multi-layer kraft paper bags; screw-mouth glass bottles, iron-capped glass bottles, plastic bottles or wooden boxes outside metal drums (cans).
-
Storage: Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from ignition sources and heat sources, and prevent direct sunlight. The packaging should be sealed and should not be in contact with air. It should be stored separately from alkalis, H blowing agents, etc.
Safety Information
-
Hazard Overview: Corrosive, irritating to the respiratory tract. Contact with eyes can cause burns and permanent damage, and contact with skin can cause severe burns. When heated, it decomposes to produce highly toxic phosphorus oxide fumes.
-
First Aid Measures: In case of skin contact, immediately raove the contaminated clothing and rinse the affected area with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes, then seek medical attention. In case of eye contact, immediately lift the eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes, then seek medical attention. In case of inhalation, quickly move away from the site to a place with fresh air, keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately and seek medical attention. In case of ingestion, rinse the mouth immediately, give milk or egg white, and seek medical attention.
-
Protection Measures: For engineering protection, operate in a closed systa, pay attention to ventilation, and make it mechanized and automated as much as possible. Provide safety showers and eye wash equipment. For personal protection, when there is a possibility of contact with its dust, it is recommended to wear a hooded electrically-powered air-supplied filtering dust respirator. In case of aergency rescue or evacuation, it is recommended to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus, wear acid and alkali-resistant plastic work clothes, and wear acid and alkali-resistant rubber gloves.
-
Leakage Treatment: Isolate the leakage contaminated area and restrict access. It is recommended that aergency treatment personnel wear self-contained breathing apparatus and acid and alkali-resistant work clothes, and do not directly contact the leaked substance. For a small amount of leakage, collect it with a clean shovel in a dry, clean and covered container. It can also be flushed with a large amount of water, and the diluted washing water can be put into the wastewater systa. For a large amount of leakage, collect, recycle or transport it to a waste treatment site for disposal.
