Oilfield water injection system: In the process of oilfield extraction, water is usually injected into the oil formation in order to maintain the pressure of the wells and increase the recovery rate. During the water injection process, calcium and magnesium ions in the water may form insoluble precipitates with carbonate and sulphate, leading to scaling of pipes and equipment.

Oil wells and oil recovery equipment: Oil wells and oil recovery equipment are susceptible to corrosion, especially in environments containing corrosive gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide.
